Novatel Wireless CDMA (Verizon USB720)

I was wondering how I can get this to work. The only thing I can find is that linux should recognize this as a simple PPP dialer, so I'm not sure if I really need drivers or not.

This is what comes up in Kinfocenter:

Also wondering if I can get my Moto Q to work the same way. This is what comes up for that in Kinfocenter:

I tried to play with some setting but still no luck. I even tried knoppix, both come up with the same error: Unable to open Modem.

I've tried using /dev/tty/USB0 and /dev/tty/usb/USB0.
