No wireless connection Netgear 311 v2

Hello! My name is Rejean from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.
I am experimenting with PCLinuxOS and Mandriva both of which do not configure my wireless card Netgear 311 v2.
I plan to replace this card with D-Link DWL-AG530 - will this work better? (I am fairly new to Linux)My OS is Windows XP Pro.

Thanks to koen and bbmak for their responses.
Since then, I installed the D-Link DWL-AG530 this week (june 26th) and I am happy to report that it works like a charm from the box when used with Mandriva and PCLinuxOS.

Hello

Before buying a new card, take a look at the HCL section of this site. Look for a card for which linux drivers exist, e.g. http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/...itle=Main_Page. Using ndiswrapper and a windows driver is less stable.

This card is suck for searching available ssid. I have this card in windows xp sp2, just like 20 feet away from the AP, 2 walls separated. The wireless(wg311v2) nic cannot find the ssid. Then, my parents use another nic in the same room, and the same computer. The nic finds the ssid immediately with full signal strength.
