Thumbs up No interface fetching: no device found


Dear Linuquestion team,

I was able to boot into the backtrack 3 final withusb device and amnt able to fetch the wireless device which i have artheros ar9245 wireless adapter in thmy laptop.Whenever i type with "iwconfig" in the root console,i geting "device not found:error fetching interface"

Hello,

What is outputted when you enter the following?

ifconfig -a
Also, could you post the output of lspci for me too? Most likely, you need to modprobe the correct drivers for your device. Try the following to see if the standard ath9k driver works for your device:

(as root)
modprobe ath9k
After you perform that, try ifconfig and iwconfig again accordingly, and post back your results.

DeAR jOSH,

Thanks for the prompt response.

I had alreaddy tried modprobe ath9k but no response with no errors but i havenot tried ifconfig -a;i will try it out but in the mean time,if you could give some ideas and concept for the resolutions for the issue.

modprobe ath9k
FATAL: MODULLE ATH9K NOT FOUND


Ispci: no response after typing the command


iwconfig:

No device found


Hope to see the resolutions asap.

Wrong command..... it is lspci, not Ispci.
