Well, if it helps someone, I found my issue. My router was accepting a "legacy" wireless transfer rate, which was bottlenecking the whole deal. I kicked it up, and now I'm able to stream and copy files at a reasonable speed across my network. Weird Linksys thing.

The mount older than kernel thing does not seem to be having any effect.
