Newbie stuck getting WiFi PCMCIA card to work on Zenwalk 7.0
 

Hi all, plea for help from a complete Linux newbie.
I've installed Zenwalk 7.0 on an IBM Thinkpad T20, and it's great, runs soooo much faster than Windows, never crashes, and looks good too !
However, I can only run from a wired connection because I just cannot get my WiFi PCMCIA card to work. The card is a Linksys WPC54G v.5, and I'm confident it works as it works fine in a Windows XP laptop I have.
What I've done so far is download the Windows drivers (WPC54Gv5.zip), unzipped the whole lot into a directory, launched and run Ndiswrapper, which seems to have worked fine because lsbcmnds is listed as a currently installed Ndiswrapper driver, but it says 'Hardware present: No' even though the card is installed,
So, I guess there's more to it than that - do I need to start any extra services, and/or edit any config files ? Or install something else, or run some other program ?
Any help would be massively appreciated, as if I can get this working on WiFi then my Linux experience would be complete ! But please bear in mind with any replies, I am a complete Linux novice, so even things like opening and editing files, navigating the file system and installing programs is a 'voyage of discovery', so please can any advice be put in the simplest most basic step by step terms !

To be able to help you we need to know which chipset that wireless-card uses. To get that information you have to open a terminal. You should find that in your menu, either named Terminal or Shell, I don't know for sure for Zenwalk.
Open that, type in the commandand post the output here.

I've googled 88w8335 [Libertas] but that threw up a flood of possibles, which I couldn't really make head or tail of !

Sorry, i have absolutely no experience with Marvell cards, so I can't help any further.
