new wireless endeavor

I am forced to buy a wire-less card to stay in touch with the "shop" while on travel...the hotel has
high-speed wireless connection, 802.11b protocol available to its residents. The ISP for the hotel
recommends either a D-Link or Linksys wireless card for laptops. I currently have FC1 installed
on my IBM TP - A22m....any thoughts/suggestions as to which brand i should purchase?

Also if anyone knows of any tips regarding the particular brand they recommend, that will help in
the setting up of this wireless connection.

I'm not a huge fan of wire-less connections (i don't know alot about the security of them), but i
need to stay in touch with my work-place while traveling...

any and all help is welcome and appreciated!

I suggest you use the Linksys WPC55AG. It's a dual-band card which could be beneficial. I have the card and it was easy to get up and running using the MADWiFi drivers.

Just out of curiosity, I bought an IBM TP A22M today, so far the specs are as follows;

Pentium III 900Mhz
256MB Ram
20GB HDD
CDRW (not sure how fast )
And on top of it all Suse sees an IBM Wireless NIC!!
I'm not sure what I'm doing either (I've had no use for wireless as this is my first laptop (bought for school) and the school has a wireless network on site so I'd kinda like to tap into it. Any ideas? What apps do I use? How do I find the wireless network? Any help would be appreciated.
