Netplan auth block unrecognised

Hi,
I am trying to get a Corporate laptop (Linux Mint 18.04) to work with the Corporate Wifi SSID using EAP/PEAP. I have got it working using netplan on the LAN and a Guest SSID using a pre-shared key but trying to get EAP/PEAP set up is proving problematic.

My netplan file is rejected when I try to apply it with the following message:

Error in network definition /etc/netplan/02-netcfg.yaml line 16 column 11: unknown key auth

I have checked the spacing on the yaml file against the examples on the netplan site, forums and anywhere else I can find any which appear to corroborate that my file is written correctly. However, the auth block is just NOT being recognised and I don't know what to do now.

I have attached the yanl file contents in a .txt file.

Can anyone help?
