netgear wg111 (V1) and ndis problem

I have been trying to get my netgear wg111 usb wireless up using ndiswrapper with no luck. I followed all the directions in ndiswrapper 1.19, copied what i thought were the good drivers from the installation cd, ndis installs with the stacks error but this is a known issue, i try to install the driver and i get "couldn't copy netgw111.inf at /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper line 144". When i check ndis it tells me "netwg111 invalid driver". Any ideas? Im not new to linux, but im not an expert by any means, and the frustration factor is starting to rise. I really need wireless running. The system is a toshiba satellite A65 S1062 and im running red hat enterprise 4. Thanks in advance.

I would also like to know if there is a wireless usb stick that works better.

Your using the wrong driver as stated by ndiswrapper. Which chipset does the Netgear wg111 USB wireless device have???

Try using the driver(s) as suggest for the ndiswrapper known working list;

http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List

If you really have a Netgear WG111 USB wireless interface (prism54 chipset) then you might want to visit; http://prism54.org/

The ndiswrapper known working list is a good source for which wireless devices to use.
