Question Netgear USB wireless see's the network but won't connect on Ubuntu 10.10...

I found a wired connection and I hoped that I downloaded all the programs needed. I downloaded the Netgear drivers and I believe they were successfully installed.
I'm using Netgear WG111v3 version 2.0.
When I try to connect the wireless, it show's the network that I want to connect to. Then it says wireless disconnected.
I would like step by step instuctions to get this going.
The cable connection is in the other house and the computer I'm currently on is wireless through Windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
