netgear ma311 wireless card will not talk to actiontec wired/wireless router

I installed my netgear ma311 with FC4 (kernel 2.6.11-1.1369_fc4) I am assuming it is being recognised as I go into network configuration wizard and it is listed as prizm 2.5 hardware which makes sense as this is the chipset used.

However when I go to activate the card I get these errors:
Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) :
SET failed on device eth0:1 ; Invalid argument.

Determining IP information for eth0:1...SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address
failed.

I set mode to auto

under network name I enter actiontec as this is the modem used and I use the specified radio button

channel is 9 same as modem

transmit rate is auto

key is 0x0101010101

I have tried both auto and static ip addresses and I get the errors listed above.

There is also the issue of my wireless listed as eth0:1. Is this an issue? My onboard lan has been disabled in bios.

Where do I begin?

Thanks

Hi,

I was never able to get my wirless card working. I bought the thing off ebay, so maybe it was never working or got damaged in shipping. I was able to get to the point of no errors.

It was a while back so I think in the operations mode drop down box I had to select every option until I was able to get the thing up with no errors. I think I needed to select Ad Hoc mode.

I no longer have a wireless card, so I can't go thru the set up to tell you exactly what I did.

Hope this helps.
