Hello, I'm currently having problems trying to get my router to work with Suse 9.3. I currently have a 2.4 ghz wireless-b Linksys router. I want to be able to plug my modem into the router and have my linux and windows box use the internet off of it. I also want to be able to use my nintendo DS to connect to it as well. So if anyone knows how to get a linksys wireless router to work please post. Thanks a lot.

you can plug the ethernet cable directly from your router into the back of your computer i believe. but if its far a way youll need to get the driver for that router. and your nintendo DS(i think its WIFI) will run off it if the router<and the modem of course> is currently running.
I believe I've done that before. I plugged my modem into the router and then my linux box into the router, then I tried to access the internet and I couldn't get internet at all.
I have a motorola surfboard, and I did plug the cable into the internet port. I could not configure it. I tried to type in the IP in the browser and I got nothing.
If you have the WAN port of the router plugged into the Surfboard, it should work. You may have to set a static IP on one of your LAN computers in order to be able to connect to the router and configure it. By the way, I would suggest using a cable to connect to the router until you have it configured an connected to the Internet.
One confounding factor might be your ISP. Some of them record the MAC address of the computer you used to first connect to them and will refuse to issue an IP address to any other MAC address. So you can either spoof the MAC address in the Linksys router (there is a page for this in the routers software) or you can call your ISP and get them to reset your account. However, I would only worry about this AFTER you've been able to access your router's software and are convinced that it isn't connecting to the ISP.
