It worded with windows xp. It works with KNOPPIX.
Now I have RedHat 9.0

kernel-wlan-ng-modules-rh9.8-0.2.0-7.i686.rpm
kernel-wlan-ng-pci-0.2.0-7.i686.rpm

and followed some instructions to configure, but no success.

HERE is some info:
[root@localhost wireless]# ifup wlan0

Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Function not implemented.
Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Function not implemented.

Determining IP information for wlan0... failed.
---------
[root@localhost wireless]# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11-b ESSID:"noodletwister" Nickname:"noodletwister"

hey,
First, I think that RH9 is a bit out of date, you might want to consider one of the Fedora Core releases. That said, it looks like your wireless device is being detected & configured, which is good. I'd try to set the SSID manually & see what you get back - from the command line, try
iwconfig wlan0 essid any
if your access point has no security set, or
iwconfig wlan0 essid <ssid of wap>
if it does. If you get an error, then you have more info. Hopefully, you will not get an error, at which point you should try iwconfig again & you should see that the
Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
has turned into
Access Point: <MAC of your wap>.
If this is the case, then I think that the problem lies with the script that's running when you call ifup.

Good Luck!

I'm going to follow your advice and install Fedora 4 then.
Do you think that I should swicth to a different distro?

once again, thanks

Distro is a very personal choice, & there's always a lot of drum banging about favorites. I myself run Slackware, also on a T23, and like it very much. What's right for me might not be for you, though, so do some homework, see what's out there, & then decide for yourself.
The forums here are a good place to start on that score - you could at least get a feel for common problems with a given distro.

Have fun ;D
