Question Need a program to detect wireless networkd in range.


g'day
i have a D-Link pcmia wifi card plugged in my laptop and was wondering if there are any programs that would allow me to check up what networks are available in the region ?

Try "iwlist scan"

well i was hoping for a proper tool ( including a GUI ) so i found something on a friends post called "Wireless Assistant" i just did
Code:
yum install wlassistant
and it installed without a problem. good program really, just dont think i can use it to connect to a wifi source like the wireless scanner in windows.
