PELase help me ASAP!!!

Well first identify the driver that you need with 'lspci' and note the first column such as 0000:00:0c.0 and then find out the PCI ID of the card that with 'lspci -n' corresponding to the first column of 'lspci' output.
The PCI ID is third column or fourth in some distributions and of the form '104c:8400'. Now you need to get the Windows driver for this chipset. In the List, find out an entry for the same PCI ID and download the driver corresponding to it.
Thats from http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/, you may find that the distro you are using already has the correct driver for the chipset you have but if not ndiswrapper should help or else search the forum again for help with your cards chipset and the flavour of debian you are using.

as you are using a D-Link card, which uses the Atheros chipset, madwifi may be of use to you (http://madwifi.org).

if you have a revision C card you'll need the ralink drivers then.. look here plz

I've got DWL-G510 (rev C) working and have also packaged the kernel module for Debian.

I have 2 of the c1 cards with firmware 5. Do you think I can get them both up and running under Knoppix on the same system?

So far I have been trying to get only one up and running but the closest I got was to freeze Knoppix and hanging a few terminals probing ra0.

My move from Windows to Linux is going slow and painful!

I will post the exact problems as soon as I tried some more....:confused:
