ndiswrapper -l doesn't display driver present

When I run "ndiswrapper -l" it reads:

rt2500 hardware present

It doesn't say the driver is present. I see a lot of posts where people should see something like:

rt2500 driver present, hardware present

So if it doesn't display "driver present" what do I do? Does this mean the driver isn't installed correctly?

I have a Linksys WMP54G card.

The obvious question now is does it work? I don't think there's a problem if it works

Nope, it doesn't.
It has actually been a complete nightmare.
A lot of improvements need to happen in this area.

You did insert ndiswrapper in the kernel with "modprobe ndiswrapper" when you tested it, didn't you?
