ndiswrapper error wont load driver

hi everyone im new to linux and here. i have successfully installed ndiswrapper and i am now in the processof trying to install my wireless driver.

i have a broadcom driver, bcmwl5.inf

when i type in:

ndiswrapper -i <directory>

it brings up this:

Loading DB Routines from perl15db.pl version 1.28
editor suppory available

enter h or hh for help, or man perldebug for more help

main:

/usr/sbin/ndiswrapper:26): my $wrap_pci_bus = 5;

Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Any help would be appreicated

when you say
ndiswrapper -i <directory>
you do mean
ndiswrapper -i <directory>/bcmwl5.inf
?
I would also ensure you are running this as root.
have you done a
modprobe ndiswrapper
?
What distribution are you running ?

Yes i do mean <DIRECTORY>/bcmw15.inf

i am running in root

i dont know if i have done modprob?

what happens when i do this?

I am running opensuse 10.1

the ndiswrapper will only work if the ndiswrapper kernel module is loaded.
modprobe ndiswrapper
does this.
lsmod
will list all the loaded modules, check ndiswrapper is there.

if it has not loaded then you would have got an error at the modprobe stage.

I have now done modprobe ndiswrapper and checked it with lsmod.

the ndiswrapper is right at the top of the list i then try and do

ndiswrapper -i /home/eddy/desktop/80211bg/broadcom/bcmw15.inf

it is still coming up with

Loading DB Routines from perl15db.pl version 1.28

what version is ndiswrapper ?
ndiswrapper -v
can you install a newer version ?
