MANDRIVA 2008 /Mandriva Linux Control Center

Does anyone know how to disable MANDRIVA 2008 Linux Control Center from controlling the your wireless setting and dhcp setting. I want to be able to use wpa_supplicant and dhclient to connect to a wireless network and not rely on this stupid control center. This is the first flaw that I have found in this distro. help

Metallica, I'm using WPA encoding with Mandriva 2008 without problems right now. The Control Center isn't really "controlling" WPA_Supplicant - it's just giving you a convenient way to provide the encryption key.

You're free to use the command line (there's no need to disable anything) - the full command is quite lengthy, but googling howto+wpa_supplicant or wpa_supplicant+tutorial will lead you right to it.

When you have the command working right, then you can cat it onto the file /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
