making a wireless router box

i've almost managed to get a wireless network up and running, but i don't know what i need to setup to get the access point of the wireless network to connect to the internet.

i've got a wireless (netgear MA311, wlan0) access point and a wired ethernet card (eth0) in the computer that should do the routing to the internet (connect w/ PPPOE on interface ppp0). i've setup the wireless cards to communicate w/ DHCP, but i don't know how to route the connection through to ppp0 (the internet interface) to get internet access on the remote computer.

what i've read seems to indicate i only need to turn on IP FORWARDING, but is there more to this? i'm somewhat confused about how bridging, etc. fits in here.

also, once the DHCP is setup i can only ping the access point from the remote computer and not the other way around. is this a routing problem? i'll keep fiddling w/ this to try to fix it.

thx for reading,
y-p
