Unhappy Lost settings for wlan0 after reboot

Hey folks

I couldn't find anythin on here to help so i thought I'd make a new thread

Well here's my problem! I decided I wana set up wireless on my linux laptop (mandrake 10 downloaded), so equiped with my D-Link DWL-650+ and some spare time I embarked on installing NDIS wrapper, which actually went quite well except that there was an error in V1.1, so I used 0.12 but i digress slightly.

So I got NDISWrapper all installed then did the

iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
iwconfig wlan0 essid <my ssid>
wlan0 key restricted my <WEP>
dhclient wlan0

then it allgoes well and i am happily connected to the net (in fact im using it now) all fine and dandy ya might say?

Well then i tried rebooting my machine! Now when I do this all of the settings go away!

I've set the modprobe settings to run NDISWrapper everytime wlan0 is used and i added the line

ndiswrapper

to my /etc/modprobe.preload file but to no avail!

Now what i want to know is, is there a file which stores the WEP key, SSID and mode within mandrake, which I can edit to store mine? I vaguely remeber touching on such a thing a long while ago but i'm at a loss to recall it! Would be grateful for any ideas thanks.

The only way I can think of is run the commands again.

I wrote a little script with the commands (like modprobe ndiswrapper, the iwconfig, and the dhcpcd commands) together and set it to run it in /etc/rc.d/rc.local in Slackware, but it doesn't work. And I can't even just run the script when I boot, I have to run "modprobe ndiswrapper" and the script.

Don't know why, but I'd be grateful also if someone could clear that up.

But still, look at it this way: You got a wireless card working. What would have happened if there was no ndiswrapper or any instructions?
