Local Network, but no WAN (WMP54G Fedora Core 4)

I just went through the painstaking task (for me, anywho) of installing ndiswrapper and the drivers on my cd (it came with the wmp54g) -- the same installation that worked on Ubuntu, but when trying to activate through the gnome network administrator, i check ifup wlan0 and it gives the error:
Code:

Error for wireless request: "Set Frequency" (....)
SET failed on device wlan0; invalid argument
Error: Unrecognised wireless request "Mb/s"

Determining IP information for wlan0... failed.

that's hand copied to the exact.

this doesnt make any sense to me!

I just did an
ifdown wlan0
ifup wlan0

and instead of ... failed. it ...done. =/

but... it still doesnt work... its using my routers DHCP server, so it shouldnt be a dns problem, right?

edit: i also just pinged googles ip and i had to CTRL+C it and it gave me status of 74 packets transmitted, 100% lost.

hmmm... im lost, aswell.
