Linksys - WUSB54GS ver 2.1 + Ubuntu
Hi there,
Sick and tired of Windows so installed Ubuntu. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to Linux so please don't bite me. I've read about ndiswrapper etc. but I'm well confused. Has anybody successfully installed a Linksys WUSB54GS ver 2.1 on Ubuntu ? If so, could someone help me with a step by step guide on how to install this please. I've downloaded "ndiswrapper" and "ndisgtk" and I have the original Linksys driver CD. I'd be very greatful if someone could help as I'm totally stuck on how to do this. Rory :newbie: |
Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
I don't know if there are driver issues with your specific WLAN adapter, but other than that with Ubuntu 7.04 WLAN should work smoothly out of the box, without having to fiddle with ndiswrapper and such. |
sorry, it's Ubuntu 7.04
under networking, wireless adapter not shown at all. I don't even think the power light comes on when the wireless adapter is plugged in under Ubuntu. It works fine (just tested it again) under Win XP so the adapter works fine. Rory |
