Hi,

I can try :

1st, you need to get lastest cvs ( go to project page and see in "cvs" section howto download it )

2nd, you need to have kernel sources available as well as wireless tools
( and make sure that running kernel has wireless extensions compiled in )

3rd, you need windows ( aaargh ... ) drivers => .inf and .sys files

From there, everything is explained in the readme that comes with the cvs

Just try and let me know where you fails, I will help you
( I cannot explain everything not knowing what you exactly knows to do )

Hi,

For compiling, you need to install a parser progam called "flex"
Depending on the distribution you are using, you can either get
it as rpm or deb archive, or simply get the source archive from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lex/

Install it and compile it if you download source

Before retrying to compile in the utils directory,
use "make clean", then restart "make"

easy go to www.linuxant.com, try the free trial, that one is easy to set up, but will hold for a month.....

medium to hard ndiswrapper.sourceforge.com

You will need to learn some of the linux basics to get this done.

ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net

you wll need to update your kernel at least to 2.4.21, to make it work, this project currently is very stable, I have configured it for Mandrake 9.1 and 9.2, an its been working with other distros...

Hi , I used Linuxants Driverloader program, and was able to get it working in both Suse 9 and fedora. The only thing is though on Fedora, I have to unplug and re-insert the card in after i login so it maintains a constant connection. I tried renumbering the services so the pcmcia card would load before the network was brought up (this worked for suse 9), but still having the same issue.
If I do not do this my network connection is intermittent.

well for Wireless G adapters there is no linux driver yet... we have to rely on wrappers, use ndiswrapper in the link above.. I has been working very well on my system.

ndiswrapper is another go here.

CVS version works perfectly under slack 9.1 with kernel 2.6.1.

I also had it working under 2.4.23 and 2.6.0.
Did not try with 2.4.22, though I suspect it would have worked fine.

Release 4 (NOT CVS) did work with 2.4.23 but would not work with 2.6.x.
CVS is apparantly essential for my laptop with the Yenta module for pcmcia
and 2.6 kernel.

I tried to get the WPC54G working on my laptop running Red Hat Linux 9 (Kernel 2.4.20-28.9) with latest ndiswrapper (0.4). I´ve just started with the penguins, so it may was a too hard intro :-) ... therefore I am thankful for every hint / reply to this issue! Automatic shell script was not working either, so I tried the step by step way.

The problem occurs at driver creation:
[root@brainstation driver]# make install
cc -DTEST_PM -DEXPORT_SYMTAB -DMODVERSIONS -include /lib/modules/2.4.20-28.9/bui
ld/include/linux/modversions.h -DLINUX -D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE -I/lib/modules/2.4.
20-28.9/build/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict
-aliasing -pipe -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -O2 -c -o wrapper.o wrapper.c
wrapper.c:1126: variable `ndis_ethtool_ops' has initializer but incomplete type
wrapper.c:1127: unknown field `get_link' specified in initializer
wrapper.c:1127: warning: excess elements in struct initializer
wrapper.c:1127: warning: (near initialization for `ndis_ethtool_ops')
wrapper.c: In function `setup_dev':
wrapper.c:1613: structure has no member named `ethtool_ops'
wrapper.c: At top level:
wrapper.c:1126: storage size of `ndis_ethtool_ops' isn't known
make: *** [wrapper.o] Error 1

Card Data for WPC54G

lspci -n
03:00.0 Class 0280: 14e4:4320 (rev 02)

What´s wrong here. Has anyone got it running or has some detailed expertise - any guru that can teach a noop ...
