Linksys WMP54G Losing Connection

Hi all,

I've got a Linksys WMP54G (boradcom chipset) card that keeps losing its connection.

I have installed the driver using ndiswrapper and cn initiall establish a connection to my AP and ping everywhere (internal IPs and external addresses) so no problems with DNS / router etc..

But then, after a few mintes, the connection drops (even if using the card, so no power management issues).

Following losing the connection, I cannot re-establish whatever I do. Tried restarting the interface (ifdown wlan0; ifup wlan0) and service network restart. Even tried reprobing ndiswrapper. In all instances, then the interface comes up, there is no responce to the dhcp client request - just hangs.

I can still see the AP with wlist on that interface and all iwconfig setting are correct as far as I can tell.

The router is fine, because it works flaw-lessly with my Windoze XP notebook.

I'm at a loss!

Has anyone experienced similar problems???

Can anyone help??

Thanks in advance,

Andy

p.s. I'm using FC5

it is defintly a problem with the linux distro, i also have a broadcom 4318 airforce chipset running on ubuntu, it took me a while to get it started, can you please post your exact version of the card?

Use the terminal command

lspci

and then copy all of the writing for the broadcom/linksys chip. Then i can try to find which set of instructions to reinstall chip, since the problem with broadcom is most linux distros dont support or carry thier firmware.
