Ive installed a new linux version on my pc and im finding it impossible to get my wireless card to work ( linksys wmp54g ).
Ndisgtk just doesnt work for me so i am using ndiswrapper.
I entered :
ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
then
ndiswrapper -d 14e4:4320 bcmwl
then
ndiswrapper -l
and it said that the driver was present and the hardware was
then
ndiswrapper -m(?) i think to write it
and then
modprobe ndiswrapper
Then when i type iwconfig it comes up with eth0,eth1 etc. but no wlan0
and when i do iwconfig wlan0 it says there is no wlan0
I went into etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper and it says
alias wlan0 ndiswrapper
So i have come to the conclusion that the drivers are installed but its just not working due to the fact that the computer is not recognising the alias wlan0
Firstly is this right? And secondly if so how can i make it recognised?
Also check lsmod for bcm43xx, the native linux driver for broadcom based cards. If both bcm43xx and ndiswrapper are loaded at the same time, the two drivers will conflict and neither will work.
