Unhappy Linksys G wireless card, MDK10

ok, MDK10 Official, Kernel 2.6, KDE:

So, I have a linksys G wireless card and no idea how to get it working. On bootup the computer recognizes the card and asks for drivers from a built in list but I don't know if any of those are correct. So then, knowing nothing else, I used tried using ndiswrapper. I got as far as installing the .inf file and ndiswrapper -l returns:

drivername present

which I believe indicates that there is a device present that could make use of the drivers. I continue with the installation but when I check it at the appropriate point (sorry I'm at work and forget the commands) the output is:

winl no device present
eth0 no device present
eth1 no device present

when it should be returning a device for one of them. Anyone have any ideas for this? Is there another, better way to go? all help is much appreciated.

The solution here is easy I do beleive. Now that it says it s present go to a console and type:

modprobe ndiswrapper

ifconfig wlan0 up

iwconfig wlan0 essid any

dhcpcd wlan0&

dhcpcd wlan0

Thats it!

right, but I think the respose to modprobe ndiswrapper is:

wlan not present
eth0 not present
eth1 not present

alll the same for the moment I will try what you said and see what happens

**EDIT**
also, can anyone explain what each line (of the previous poster) means lol? I'm a newb
