kismet.conf need help with the source= option
in the kismet.conf file it says:
# Sources are defined as:
# source=sourcetype,interface,name[,initialchannel]
# Source types and required drivers are listed in the README.
# The initial channel is optional, if hopping is not enabled it can be used
# to set the channel the interface listens on.
# YOU MUST CHANGE THIS TO BE THE SOURCE YOU WANT TO USE
source=none,none,addme
my problem is I am not exactly sure what they are asking for as a sourcetype, interface, or name. I have been searching around for examples but have yet to find anything that truely shows what would fill those places. for source type I was thinking maybe put in the location of my nics drivers but I dont think that is what they are actually asking for. any examples or thuorough explinations or links to explinations that already exist would be appreciated.
I am running slackware 10.1 with a dlink dwlg50 rev a wireless card using ndiswrapper to connect to a dlink di524 router. if anymore info is need please ask. by the way the wireless connection works fine for browsing and connecting to the router.

Dude, you're outta luck ATM. For now, kismet doesn't support any NDISwrappers. You are going to have to go out and get another card that supports rfmon mode, which windows doesn't support (don't quote me, but that's my understanding). A good card for kismet would be any prism or ornioco (sp?) card. [netgear wg511 v2 works, and good signals!]
Good luck!!
