iwlist and iwconfig not working

I loaded the firmware and my problem was a file extension problem.

Now that the firmware is "loaded", the lights are on, not blinking though, ifconfig shows a mac address and that the card is recieving packets and bytes. The card is a Netgear WG511, mandrake 10.0 is detecting it as a dlink card 650.

Now my problem is that i can type in iwlist and iwconfig in the console and nothing comes up. I can't even do a man iwlist or man iwconfig.

Any suggestions?

What are the procedures for getting this puppy activated?

Yep. Wireless Tools, in fact, is the name of the package. Check your distro's CD and install from there. These commands must be run as root, BTW.

awesome thanks. I'm so stupid sometimes. lol.

The root aspect was simple. So i'm assuming I can just connect as root, then logout and goto my main login.
