iwconfig sens help

The man page for iwconfig talks very little about the sens option. I have not been able to find a good answer on what value of N should be specified. The man page also gives an example iwconfig sens -80; could anybody please explain the -80 here?

If I need to increase the threshhold, what value should I specify.

Thanks
