Ok, so I'm a bit new to linux however I've been searching for a solution to the issue I'm having non-stop for hours and I keep hitting dead ends.(Note: I'm running my OS in virtualBox)

In Virtual Box the connection is a virtual cabled connection. This is the same even if the host is wireless. Only way to change this is to specify a specific adapter like a USB dongle. But you can get out so there is no need to mess with it.

No problem if the host is wireless

First connect with the host, this is pretty much standard in a virtual machine wired or wireless. The virtual machine has to have a connection and the host usually provides this connection no matter if wired or wireless. It is possible to use a devoted network connection but it is not usually the case. Once the host is connected the virtual box OS will be on the network whether at home or Starbucks.

Maybe this link will explain it better than I can.

I hope that helped clear it up for you.

Smile You are welcome

No problem I was glad I could help a little. If you are wanting to use the physical wireless adapter you can. But further settings will be required. I don't think you would gain much in performance though but I have been wrong before. Good luck.
