Angry ipw3945 driver help

I am using a intel centrino duo machine running fedora 6. It has an
intel Pro/wireless 3945abg card. I can't seem to get it to work. Found out that I need ipw3945 driver, which I have installed along with some dependencies described on some page (lost the address). Any way, when I 'modinfo ipw3945' I get:

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

filename: /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2962.fc6/updates/drivers/net/wireless/ipw3945.ko
license: GPL

alias: pci:v00008086d00004222sv*sd*bc*sc*i*
depends:
vermagic: 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 SMP mod_unload 686 4KSTACKS
parm: antenna:select antenna (1=Main, 2=Aux, default 0 [both]) (int)
parm: disable:manually disable the radio (default 0 [radio on]) (int)
parm: associate:auto associate when scanning (default 0 off) (int)
parm: auto_create:auto create adhoc network (default 1 on) (int)
parm: led:enable led control (default 1 on)

parm: debug:debug output mask (int)
parm: channel:channel to limit associate to (default 0 [ANY]) (int)
parm: mode:network mode (0=BSS,1=IBSS) (int)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So I guess it is installed correctly? However, when I use the GNOME network configuration GUI to add hardware, my card does not show up.....am I missing some step(s)? Still researching, but any help would be great.....

Any errors when you modprobe the driver?

Is the regulatory daemon running?

Is eth1 showing up in iwconfig as a wireless device?

So when I 'iwconfig' i get:

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

When i 'modprobe ipw3945' i get nothing.

Also during boot I noticed a messege along the lines of
"ipw3945 device can not be found".

by regulatory daemon, do you mean ipw3945d? If so I do not see it.....

You'll want to modprobe the driver before you run iwconfig (you mave have, it just wasn't clear from your post).

Follow the installation instructions here: http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/INSTALL

Or, try the new Intel driver which does not require the daemon.
