IPW2200 on Gentoo (built-in)

Hey everyone, I just had to reinstall Gentoo onto my laptop (inspiron 600m) and I'm slowly starting to get stuff put together...

except for the wifi. Apparently the most current version of the kernel (2.6.15) has built in support for ipw2200.

My question to you all: has ANYONE gotten this to work and has a GOOD walkthrough (from just after the kernel is installed to a working wifi connection)?

Thanks,
Art

Yes, and yes.
I just installed gen2 on a friends machine on his 600m. And I have used it to get support working for a similar card: ipw3945
What you need is a ethernet connection to the net.
And navigate to: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_ipw3945
From here follow the directions, replacing "ipw3945" with "ipw2200"
If for some reason portage flakes out on you, you can also optionally get the source files from ipw2200.sf.net .
good luck!
