ipw2200 and kernel 2.6.16-1.2096_FC5

I recently installed FC5 on my Dell D610 laptop.

I have the ipw2200 wireless card and as far as I understand, there is no driver for my kernel (2.6.16-1.2096_FC5)... As far as I can see, the latest driver is for kernel-2.6.16-1.2080_FC5.

So what happens now? Do I wait for a driver that fits my kernel, or do I downgrade?... or is there a third solution which is not kernel-dependent

Problem solved ... all I had to do was getting the firmware:

Downloaded and unpacked ipw2200-fw-2.4.tgz into /lib/firmware ... then reboot and voila!

I got the answer from http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=279843

Hey well done! I just saw someone else posted the same question with fc5 - hopefully he sees your post..
also i also suggested installing firmware to /lib/firmware so maybe all will be okay =)
