IP address not getting updated

I am using using kernel 2.6.31 for my imx35 board .I have problem with setting up the network . when i connect my ethernet cable to one router it will get ip for example 199.xx.yy.zzz through dhcp but when i disconnect the cable and connect to different router which is have ip 192.xx.yy.zz its not getting the ip series from that router it is retaining the old address .Even if i restarted the system its ip not getting updated. I have another problem when i do ifconfig up my system default gateway ip getting deleted even if immediatly add the route its getting deleted .

Hi there,

It sounds quite normal to me because you are using the same line and DHCP has already leased that IP address to your system. It is quite common when you use an ADSL connection.

Also not quite sure what you mean by when you connect to router? Which Linux distro you are using? Let us know the output of the following commands:

1. ifconfig (on both the systems)
2. route (on both the systems)
