Internet pages won't load

Hi!
I am using KNOPPIX, i had a hard time configuring the network card and i was finally able to make my laptop "see" the internet. On SIGNAL STRENGTH it has 95 ULTIMATE; but i can't get any website to load.

I am very new to this, so any help and support would be very appreciated!

Thanks,
M.

can you ping for example www.google.com ?
How are you connected to the Internet? I suppose a Router thats also Wireless Router in case... so Did you setup the DNS Server?
In the most cases it like for example:
Router Ip Adress 192.168.2.1
and it gives DHCP Leases so the 1st client will have 192.168.2.2 he also sents the
Gateway information and sets up the client to have an IP Address and a Gateway Address. So in this case 192.168.2.2 IP and GW will be 192.168.2.1 so what you'll have to do is to set the DNS Server to 192.168.2.1 IP of your Router.

okay try this in a console
Code:
sudo passwd root
1st you'll be asked for your password
2nd you'll be asked to create a pw for root
3rd verify it

then try the steps in the earlier post.
