Intel Wireless-AC 9260 - Not Detected - Dell Laptop - Linux Mint 18.3
Having some issue with my new WiFi card on Linux Mint. I decided to upgrade and bought an Intel Wireless-AC 9260 for my laptop. Previous card was an Intel model 8260. The 8260 worked fine, but with the new 9260 in place, Bluetooth appears to work but not WiFi. For some reason Mint "Failed to Detect Network Card"
Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 14-3452.
Intel Pentium N3700 CPU
4GB Memory
Samsung SSD
Intel HD Graphics 405 (Braswell)
Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon, Kernel: 4.15.0-22-generic x86_64
if you had your other card working from install, that is when it was detected and the proper drivers for that other card were installed, now you got a different card, needs different driver.
Check your wiring to be sure you have it seated properly and the correct wires in the correct sockets.
Was very careful with the new card, to install it safely. Pretty sure I seated it properly in the slot. The antenna wires were tricky
to connect because the sockets are small. I did match up the black and white wires, connected them successfully. I also was careful to prevent electrostatic damage.
The card took several weeks to be delivered, Amazon had said it was lost in transit. Eventually was delivered though. Maybe it was damaged in that time? If it doesn't work under Windows 10, do you think I should return it?
