Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 will not start
I have a Lenovo T510 laptop that I'm running RHEL 5.4 on. The OS installed with no problems. However, I'm having problem getting the wireless card to work. When I try to start the wireless card manually or during system start I get the following message:
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
Determining IP information for wlan0...
I've loaded the firmware from the Intel site to the following directory
/lib/firmware
However I continue to get the same message.
I'm running the an Intel i7 core processor with 2 gigabytes of memory. When I look at the Network Configuration Panel it shows that the wireless card in inactive. However, when I check the Hardware tab on the same panel it shows that "wlan0" status is OK. The description also shows Intel Corporation WiFI Link 6000 Series". This indicates to me that it does recognize the wireless hardware. I'm running RHEL kernal version 2.6.18-194.el5xen.
Thanks in advance for your help
