Installing Intel AnyPoint II Wireless Card
 

I've got an Intel Wireless II card to be used on a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop. Redhat 2.4.7-10 is currently installed. I've been searching for some drivers for this card but have yet to locate anything. Intel doesn't currently support a Linux driver. Does anyone know of a proven driver for this card? If you could either provide the driver or a link to the site I would consider dancing at your wedding (or divorce).

RedHat has a lot of drivers onboard that don't have a conf file to load them... short-sightedness on their part when prepping the release. If you have more information than Intel wireless II card? A model #, anything? Offhand is this a:

Intel PRO/Wireless 201 LAN PC card?

Intel AnyPoint II wireless PC card.
11 Mbps IEEE 802.11b
Model # AP311

Too much marketing, too little information. The wireless cards of the world are 1 of about 14 chipsets. Its just a matter of figuring out which one this bloody thing is. Offhand is it this one?

If not, could you post a link to either a Dell or an Intel webpage about it, then I can weasel through some white papers and figure out the chipset in a few minutes.

I've been poking around quite a bit and can't find any information on this thing either; well, at least not on the web. Intel's site is about as Mickey Mouse as it gets. For regular pci cards there is the lovely command: lspci, but for pcmcia its a little more complicated. Try:

cardctl ident

Maybe that will give us something to go on.
