installing drivers ndiswrapper

hello, i have installed ndiswrapper and i dont know how to install the drivers. the drivers are .exe files and i have heard that you can unzip them to find the .inf file to use with ndis. i try to unzip the file but it tells me that i can not find the file or it is not an exe or zip or file? i dont know what is up with this. any help would be much appriciated.

There's a program called cabextract which I hear should do this.

cabextract is great for older drivers, but newer drivers use install shield (even tho they may have a .cab extension)
unshield is the program to use in such a case.
