Installing Device Specific driver?

Hey,

I got a new SlackWare12 box working now, but with very slow and inconsistent speeds. The connection isn't stable also, I get very frequent timeouts and such, even though my other PC's work fine with good speed.

I have not installed a driver for my wireless card though, so my question is, can installing the driver for my wireless card improve the connection speed and quallity?, or do you think the problem is something else?

If the wireless card is working ... then some sort of driver has been loaded and is driving the card.

What you might be saying ... is there a better driver than the one I am currently using ?

You should give us the specifics on the wireless card that is being used by this host.
