Identifying a router...

Pet project--- I have 2 old routers in my closet that I want to put the dd-wrt firmware onto but the ISP I got them from has the names of the routers changed periodically for reasons unknown to me... I am almost positive they are Siemens routers but I cannot pin down the models to check for compatibility with dd-wrt.

How do I narrow down the exact model with the information listed on the stickers on the bottom or the routers? Z/Z

Can you post a photo of the different stickers? Or at least list what they say?

sure...

...

1: Siemens Speedstream 6520
Wireless ADSL Gateway
Part #: 060-N651-A12

Assembled in USA
Mfg. in CHINA (big surprise there)
IC: 267AJ-N651(A12)

12v DC, 1.0 A

Couple of barcode stickers off to the side:

1N651A01 AAF536

20013A33683BB (Really wish they would do away with uppercase b's... the last 2 characters are b's not 8's)

2: Sagemcom SE567 (I had several routers that looked exactly the same as this one that were called Siemens Gigaset SE567 sold by the same ISP)

Wireless ADSL Gateway
Part #: 060R-H550-A13

Assembled in China
Mfg. in CHINA (I am not yelling...they spelled it in all caps)

IC: 267AJ-H550(A15)

12VDC 1.0A

Two small bar codes labelled this time:

MFG: RH550A05 CAF042 MAC: E8bE81Fbb2dd (I made the b's and d's lowercase to spare anyone eye strain)

I hope this helps. Z/Z

I didn't find any of these devices on the dd-wrt or openwrt list. However, I did find some chipsets which may or may not help you find something.

From this article, it appears to have the following chipset:
main chip = Texas Instruments TNETD7300 chip
wireless = Texas Instruments TNETW1230
4 port switch = Marvell 88E6060

I didn't find anything very useful here other than it is indeed a siemens gigaset se567. I blundered across something that made it sound like Sagemcom bought that division or something like that. I also found that it appears many ISP's will put their own custom firmware on them, removing any features they don't want you messing with. Your best bet to find the chipsets are to open the thing up.

If you really want to try this, you may be in full hardware hacking mode.

Thanks... both of those routers are paid for and expendable so I am more than willing to crack them open in the name of "breaking things because I can" Z/Z
