Hostap-driver for Prism 2.5

Hello,

I have a PCI wlan card with a Prism 2.5 chipset.

The driver for this card is compiled into the kernel (version 2.6.7).

I just compiled the hoastap-driver for my card and loaded the module with "modprobe hostap_pci"

It seems the hostap-driver is not using the wlan-card because it's still used by the other driver which is compiled into the kernel.

Is there any way, to unload the driver which is in the kernel? Otherwise I have to compile a new kernel without support for my card, but this will take several ours, because I have a very old and slow system.
