home network and work network

I'm attempting to connect to a home network and a work network. I don't want to have to change settings every boot so i want it to attempt to connect to the both and connect to which ever one it can during boot. i created the wlancfg-office for the office network and in the wlan.conf file i enabled the wlan0 with no wep and to connect to any network and the wlan1 for the office ssid and configured the wlancfg-office file for the network with the wep key but i don't see wlan1 getting booting up and attempting to connect?? any suggestions??

Are wlan0 and wlan1 two different devices, or two different configurations of the same physical device?
