Can you ping anything beyond the router? Try

ping -c4 66.102.7.99

That's google, if that works, then you've got a dns problem, if not it'll be back to the drawing board.
good luck.

Hi. I'm new to Linux. I use Suse 9.1 Personal and I'm not sure how to configure Yast so I can use my wireless USB adapter. It is a Linksys WUSB11 version 2.8. I also tried to install the Linux driver for the adapter but I'm not sure how to do that. Can someone help me?

What's the output of ifconfg -a, and route -n? Are you using dynamic or static addresses?

catmandu123, you probably need to change your /etc/resolv.conf so that it has your router's ip as a server to query.
Also add the router as a gateway in your network scripts, or wizardy thing.

*bump*

I'm having the same issue in Suse 9.1 Pro; to recap:

I've set up my wireless card's drivers in what seems to be a correct fashion; I can ping and connect to the router, as well as ping other computers on my network. My problem seems to be in getting off the network, as I cannot connect to or ping any external sites.

I've listed my router's IP address (192.168.1.1) as the "Default Gateway," but that doesn't seem to help anything.

Any ideas?
