firmware upgrade for dwl-g650

I was just wondering if anyone here can help me to upgrade my dwl-g650 firmware using my linux laptop. I downloaded the latest f/w from dlink's website but i have no idea of how i should proceed with the update. I have a poor signal reception at home using my laptop and my di-624 router and i think that if i can upgrade my f/w i would be able to get a better signal reception. So, the question is, has anyone tried to upgrade dlink's f/w using a linux system only?
Thanks for any help,

Do you mean the router or the card?

If the router, then it's a web interface. Nothing different. Upload it.

If the card, then go here:

my card uses the atheros chipset. I am trying to get it to work using the latest version of the windows driver thru ndiswrapper... Do you have the same wireless card?

No, I use Cisco a/b/g cards.
