fedora + netgear ma311

I'm trying to get my netgear ma311 to work on my desktop with fedora core 1. i updated my kernel to 2.6 w/ an rpm i downloaded from somewhere. I've got the orinoco_pci drivers installed (i think). It gets auto-recognized and all that. But i'm having strange problems on boot. Every once in a while, the auto detector of fedora will say my cards (i have a nic and the ma311) have been removed and right afterwards will reconfigure them,

Anyway, whenever i try to activate the card through the gui it says, "Obtaining driver information: operation not supported. Determinig ip address....... It eventually fails.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this or any suggestions of commands i should send through the terminal?

p.s. /sbin/modprobe orinoco_pci results in fatal error: orinoco_pci already in kernel.

you could try " dmesg | less " after a boot, and look for any mention of orinoco_pci loading, errors etc. If the driver is built into the kernel you don't have to insert any modules.

To get more info, run " iwconfig " and "ifconfig ".

I have a MA311 running well on 2.4, but had to get a more recent orinoco driver... I think 0.13c was the one that was stable for me.
