Fedora core 5, linksys wireless adapter

Afrer instalkling Fedora Core 5, the computer realizes theres a wireless card, but doesn't seem to knbow how to use it.

i have Comcast high speed internet, through a home network.
I use a "Wireless-G PCI adapter" model#wmp5465 made my linksys

in System->Admin.->Netowork, i see
under "devices"--"inactive eth0 Ethernet"
under "hardware"--"linksys NC100 status ok"
under "DNS"--all fields blank

Unfortunately, Linksys uses a lot of different chipsets in their cards (and don't support Linux at all). If you can post the card make/model and chipset (if you know) we might be able to get you up and running.

Since Linksys doesn't make anything called wmp5465, I'm going to guess that you meant the wmp54GS and the type was just too small to read.

Probably the best bet for this card is to use ndsiwrapper and the Windows driver. If you use the link in my sig to get to the ndiswrapper wiki site, there are good instructions on how to download and install ndiswrapper.

Oh, and a word of caution. If you use the latest version of ndiswrapper and get errors about needed a newer gcc, it is usually a much better idea to drop back to an older version of ndiswrapper than to try and upgrade your gcc.
