Detect WiFi adapter

I downloaded the Linuxant driver for my Microsoft MN-720 wireless PC card adapter and during setup had the adapter working (LED lights on) but once I rebooted it does not seem to be detected either if I insert it while Fedora (core 2) is "up" or during the boot.

When I try to activate Eth1 in the Config-network dialogue it says it can't control the device. Am I being "thick" about how to activate adapters in Linux? Does it have to do with a "hotplug" setting I have read about in some other posts?

Pardon if I'm being a hack; I'm a relative newbie

Not that i am an expert on wifi but you could try the following.

check you pcmcia is runnning:

#/etc/init.d/pcmcia start

also:

#cardctl ident

Should return your cards details.

You could also check the connection using the command call

#iwconfig

Cool Thanks

I actually got it running! I used the driver's configuration tool itself.

That will help me shut it down too - cool.

Now one more question - in Fedora, how do I set up connections to more than one router (I have mine at home and one at school). Do you need to set up one "eth" for each router (ie "eh1" for home, then "eth2" for the school's wifi router)? Forgive the silly question, but I'm a Mac user and only just learning wireless on Fedora Core 2.
