Desktop Wireless Card Recommendations Needed

I am looking for specific recommendations for PCI wireless cards which are fully supported by Fedora 8. Not interested in anything requiring ndiswrapper. Anybody have any suggestions on where to look?

Maybe have a look at the Hardware Compatibility List?

If it doesn't specifically have to be a PCI card, I'd suggest one of those that use zd1211rw kernel module, for example the A-Link usb dongle. There are many models though, so it should be easy to find those that have a native Linux driver. Some manufacturers even officially say their product works on Linux (meaning that there is a native kernel module for them so you don't need to resort to ndiswrapper or anything like that).

Yes, I took a look at the Hardware Compatibility List but it's geared towards how to get my specific hardware running in Linux. I'm trying to come from the opposite view - what wireless PCI cards/manufacturers are known to work well with Linux.

Thanks for any input.

Let me ask things a little differently to hopefully spur some additional in put.

By scrubbing this list of wireless cards I found the same chipsets/drivers frequently come up as supported:
Atheros Mad WiFi
Prism2/2.5/3 hostap
Prism GT Prism 54
Ralink rt2x00
Ralink rt61

Any suggestions on which of these chipsets to focus in on an which to avoid?
