Configuring Dlink DFE-690TXD

I need the experts help in configuring D Link DFE 690TXD Card. I read from forum topics that this card uses Realtek RTL 8139 chipset. Laptop runs a brand new installation of Redhat 9.0

Let me explain what i did

1. Inserted the card into Pcmcia slot in the laptop

2. Then added the below five lines in /etc/pcmcia/config

device "realtek" class "network"
module "cb_enabler", "pci-scan", "cb_shim", "rtl8139"

card "D-Link DFE-690TXD"
manfid 0x0149, 0x0000
bind "realtek"

3. Then edited the /etc/modules.conf and added the below line

alias eth0 8139too

4. Restarted Pcmcia services using

/etc/init.d/pcmcia restart

But my card is not recognized. When i run modprobe i get the following error messages.

/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/net8139too.o
/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/net8139too.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters inlcuding invalid IO or IRQ parameters
You may find more information in the syslog or dmesg output
/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/net8139too.o failed
#delete mii
/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o:insmod 8139too failed

ANY HELP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
