Compaq Evo N610c

I've had this laptop a while now (one year) and have recently installed madrake 10 so i have the 2.4.22 kernel.

i'd like to get the built in W200 wireless card to work, any tips or where to start?

I have read some sites saying that 2.6.x kernels have wireless support, would i need that?

Any help much appreciated.

http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/jo_ka/ - I found this by going to www.linux-laptop.net and then clicking "Compaq" and then finding the model on the list.

It describes how to do it in RedHat, but the instructions should work in Mandrake.

It seems to get the built in W200 to work, you need to flash upgrade the firmware. I dont think I would be able to do this as I have a standard build XP from work which i dual boot to.

It also seems that the card is only 802.11b and I want a g card. So my next question, is there a well supported pc card that I can buy where I can just plug into mandrake 10 with minimal effort?

Thanks
CK
